The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Some runs are good, some bad, and some downright ugly.  Some runs are all three.  Today was all three.  I started off at 5am into my neighborhood feeling very sore from weight lifting yesterday.  Plus, there is so much smoke in the air from the fires in Colorado that the air is dry and unpleasant to breath. I just felt like a lump.  I thought about cutting my run short, but decided that would be, as Katherine would say, "lame sauce." So I put in my ear buds and let Will I Am motivate me to the half way mark.  Once I hit half way, not only was it downhill, but my spirits were lifted and I started feeling fantastic.  It always amazes me how some runs can start out so crappy and end so wonderfully.  Another day, another run owned!

  1. Hey Renee, thanks for visiting my blog. It's fun to read and learn from other runners and I will add you to my blog list. I noticed you are going to be running Corner Canyon 25K on Saturday. I LOVE Corner Canyon and try to get up there whenever I can. I will be doing the 50K. I ran it last year as well but was near the back of the pack. That's kind of my story. Usually near the back. That's alright. I just love being out there. Anyway, you asked where that canyon was we ran with Facebook friends. If you drive up Provo Canyon and then turn off the highway at Vivan Park, it's another 4 miles up to Trefoil Ranch. That was the start. We then ran back to the mouth of the canyon on the trail system there for a total of 10 miles. It was a lot of fun and I hope to set up another run some time this Summer to do again.

Have a great day and happy running! Maybe I'll see you at Corner Canyon?

    1. Yes! I'm looking forward to Corner Canyon! I just ran my first 50K in March, the Buffalo Run. I loved it and am planning another in Fall. I run in Corner Canyon as much as possible. I'm usually at the back of the pack as well. I don't care. I'm just running & loving it! Hope to see you Saturday!
